Today I am going to a meeting of the Vancouver Rose Society at the Floral Hall of VanDusen Botanical Garden. Members have been invited to an evening with a no rules “Bring your Bloom Event”.
In the past I have never participated in any way as I find the usual rules mimic the formal almost brutal rules of a Victorian era.
There is an American saying that states that “A dog licks it’s…. because it can.”
My display is one made possible only because we are now in
the 21st century. I chose five roses and scanned them this afternoon
with either hosta leaves or a senecio. In one case with photographs of my
Rosemary. I immediately printed them and signed them.Senecio candicans 'Angel Wings' & Rosa 'Souvenir du Docteur Jamain' & Rosa 'Emily Carr' 18 June 2024
I will bring the five prints and five glasses with the plants I scanned today.

And extra special part of my display is that instead of printing the scans on paper I did on ink-jet transparency that I then mounted on silver cardboard. The result is reminiscent of 19th century daguerreotypes.
