Hosta 'Whirlwind' 25 October 2020 |
In this Vancouver fall, our plants view for attention to show off their fall color. Because hostas are known for their beauty, in an emerging spring, and the excellence of their foliage in the summer few (but not me!) notice them and how some of them are beautiful as the leaves decay and finally melt into the ground. This hosta, Hosta ‘Whirlwind’ is a fine example.
English is known for its ability to turn any noun into a verb. Here is a lovely one not available in English. Spanish for autum I otoño (from the Latin autumnus). In Spanish we can say “voy a otoñar con placer” or I will spend this autumn with pleasure.

Our Kits home is warm and cozy (as our younger granddaughter Lauren likes to say). It is grand to otoñar.
