My Personal Travel Agent

A woman perhaps is as good as her bungling husband. Rosemary is much better than that in spite of my bungling. She is most often right about everything and in particular about financial matters. She is the one who wears the financial pants in our family.
Some months ago my friend Paul Leisz called me to tell me
that a friend was given an iPhone7 at work after he had purchased one before.
So Rosemary got it for a song. Since then she has become a texting queen and
can find all kinds of stuff in her phone. Her laptop is lonely these days.
Before the advent of smart phones, Rosemary always arranged
our travels abroad. Not only that, she inherited (I do not know how) from my
grandmother a special talent for packing.
With her iPhone she obtained our NY hotel and airplane tickets, right on our bed with Casi-Casi (our cat) between us.
Using our Airmiles points, she upgraded our Vancouver to
Newark (pronounce Nork with a hint of an e before that o) tickets to business class. And back, too.
Because she checked everything she told me last week before
we left for out trip to New York City that we were going to spend time in the
Vancouver Air Canada Business Lounge.
Luckily I don’t drink because I could have easily been under
the table before I even left our city. There was food, excellent coffee and all
kinds of other stuff.
I must come clean here and say that every time I have flown
when I enter the plane I look at disgust at all those people sitting on their
special business or first class nooks. What a waste!
Now after having flown both ways (and enjoyed the Newark
Maple Leaf Lounge) I can say that I feel superior to all those “unwashed” in
what used to be call tourist class.
The seats become 95% beds and the personal movie screens are
the size of large computer monitors.
I do not feel guilty. Returning, the piri-piri chicken had not a hint of rubber.
Best of all I have never not appreciated the special talents
of my personal Travel Agency Agent. And that is my wife Rosemary.
