Rosemary & Rosa 'Margaret Merril' 28 August 2024 |
To somehow escape my constant thoughts that Rosemary is not with me I have daily distractions or plans to do activities within a week. Every last Wednesday of the month, a few of us, photographers, write, designers, etc., meet for lunch at the Sylvia Hotel.
I cannot speak for others but I like to “show and tell”. This expression does not exist in my Spanish. Preparing my show and tell for these last Wednesdays is an important distraction.
In today’s show and tell I also want to produce something I did today. I feel that photographers, like gunfighters, are as good as their last one.
Rosa ‘Margaret Merril’ was Rosemary’s favourite white rose. This spring it emerged with one, not very good cane, and I thought it was the end of the rose. These days, when a rose in my garden dies, it is all but impossible to replace it.
Margaret Merril came back and it looks pretty good. I knew today, when I saw this open bloom, that I had to conjure something involving my Rosemary. Thanks to my almost always functioning Epson P700 I was able to print an 81/2 by 11 to take to the Sylvia.
