No memory of the date except I remember they were living on York and Oak |
On Friday 26 July I went to an Art Bergmann concert at the Rickshaw. After the concert I went to the dressing room. I was met by a tallish, beautiful, blonde, woman. She said to me, “How are you Alex?”
I was looking at ghost. Art’s former wife, Sherri Decembrini died last year. The woman facing me was that woman.
Of course I was wrong. The young woman was Naomi Decembrini, Sherri’s daughter. She remembered I had photographed her as a little girl.
I was too shaken to even think of taking a portrait there. The light was terrible. Bergmann texted me Naomi’s phone number. She lives in the interior. She answered while driving home and told me she will be back by the end of August. I look forward to taking her portrait.
One of the pleasures of being a portrait photographer is to photograph someone more than once.
