Christmas 2017 Second in a Series
Sunday, December 24, 2017
It is 5:15 on Christmas Eve. The cucumbers for the salad, thinly sliced are in the fridge in water with lots of salt and sugar. This is a recipe we obtained from our Hungarian friend Paul Leisz. The flan is on its dish and I will later have to put whipping cream in our Austrian little machine that instantly whips it with the use of CO2 cartridge. Lauren did not used to like Rosemary’s flan because Rosemary adds a spoonful of Nescafé for flavour. Now that Lauren likes coffee she wants the whipping cream.
I have made the beef gravy for the roast and will add the
drippings later. All is ready for the family to arrive at 7. Since Bruce
Stewart, Hilary’s husband, works until 8 we plan to dine a bit later.
