Christmas Eve in Burnaby was rather pleasant. My son-in-law Bruce cooked lots of stuff and my daughter Hilary baked two pies and many kinds of cookies, etc.
But for me the best moment was that I could finally put to rest the obligation I always had to take the Christmas Eve photographs.
My Christmas portrait of Lauren on Christmas 2015 |
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Canon Selphy miniature printer (it comes with ink and paper) that can be connected via Wifi with what is the de facto camera of the century, the phone. I gave it to my youngest daughter Lauren who is a whiz with this sort of thing.
My phone clamp did not work so Lauren’s paramour stepped in and between them they took a very good group shot. In a few minutes all of us had a copy of the picture in which Lauren was able to letter very nicely.
I gave my show and tell as I wrote about in this blog. I made it short and embarrassed nobody. I was able to return home to my cats in what was a not bad Nochebuena. Of course when I went to bed all I could do was to think of my Rosemary. But I smiled thinking that she would have told me, “Alex, you did well with the gift for Lauren.”
