I have four very thick files. One is Arthur Erickson, another William Gibson, a third is Art Bergmann and the fourth is D.O.A.
I have written many blogs on all four of them. What now leads me to write this one about D.O.A. is that yesterday April 1, 2023 I was driving on Seymour on my way to pick up my daughter Hilary. We were going to the Cactus Club on Hamilton and Davie where Lauren (her younger daughter) works. I turned on the radio as a habit and imagine my surprise to find producer Michael Juk hosting a much revised version of Hot Air. When CBC decided to kill the jazz from Hot Air many protested.
The surprise, beyond listening to friend Michael Juk, was that the song I was listening to was being performed by Joe Keithley, aka Joey Shithead. The song was titled Men for All Ages. It is a killer featuring the cast of characters from Star Trek. In the interview with Juk (imagine Joe on Hot Air!) Keithley mentioned that the whole point of Star Trek is that they were out to help people in other planets and stars.

The CBC Hot Air is a bit hard to navigate so scroll forward until you hear the Juk interview with Keightley Hot Air
True punks, and Keithley is a true punk, have unwavering
political views about helping mankind. Being now a member of the Green Party in
the Burnaby City Council, I can sense a friendlier, centered and I might I even
add a pleasant Joe Keithley.
