M - I995 and worked on this week |
In 1995 I photographed a beautiful woman i will call M. She was working as a server in a downtown Vancouver café. In all my years of taking photographs of people I have never ever used a model release. In her case that was a mistake. I put one of her photos in a rave. Within days I got a stiff letter from her lawyer that should any of her client’s photographs ever appear anywhere, or seen in my portfolio, I would do so at my peril.
Now in 2022 she is close to being 50. She is well known in the theatre community and I wonder (but I will never know), seeing that I am now going to be 80 this year, if once I am dead, if any of these women will come out and boast that a Vancouver photographer had taken lovely pictures of them sometime in their past.
Recently (as in a few days ago) I have been sandwiching negatives of these women from my files. I did a few of M and once I cropped it so as not to show anything that might offend anybody or her lawyer I was dazzled.
Today, Wednesday April 27 2022 I had a good day informing all the people who collect money from me on-line of my new credit card expiry date.
In this 21st century we are damned by:
1. Passwords
2. Pin numbers
3. Credit card expiry dates
I feel relieved but a tad lazy about writing a lengthy and “important” blog. This one will do as the image really does not need any explanation.
Should one be necessary
I wrote about the process here: Perfection is a polished collection of errors
