Florence - March 2019 |
As fewer and fewer people want to be photographed by this chap I tell myself to go out to the street and take street photographs. These are much in vogue and wherever I go I see people with their phones shooting what they see.
I am in the opinion that if Fred Herzog were to return from the grave he would not find those bright colours and neon signs that he so liked and photographed. Both he and a fellow companion from the grave, Henri Cartier-Bresson would be thoroughly bored.
In my case, all those blue and green tall buildings filled with Teslas in their garages, do not inspire me to snap. I was planning to visit family friends in Cuernavaca, Mexico this month but I have postponed because I have concerts and theatre I want to attend. I know that the moment I deplane in Mexico I would be shooting street photographs.
These three photographs here I shot with my digital camera in Florence in the last picture that’s Rosemary against the wall. Why cannot I find elevator doors, etc here in Vancouver?
