While not true, I like the urban legend that the Apple logo is associated with the fact that Alan Turing on June 7th died by biting on an apple that he injected with cyanide.
This hosta is one of my favourites this year. It looks great right now without any fall colouring. This leaf looks the way it is because I recently scanned it and left it in my oficina.
Hosta 'Forbidden Fruit' was introduced by Marco Fransen from the Netherlands, who created the tetraploid hosta as a mutation of Hosta 'Orange Marmalade' using the chemical colchicine. He and his wife, Joyce, were credited with its discovery and creation around 2008.
Perhaps the hosta was named after the apple in Genesis.
