As Rosemary and I get ready for our flight tomorrow to
Buenos Aires we do it with a bit of sadness. Since our Casi-Casi died a few
weeks ago we will not be following the previous routine of taking him to the
Kerrisdale Feline Hilton.
Another cause for melancholy is to look at our garden and
note how some of the rose blooms are not opening because of the rain. But we
are happy to report that Curtis Daily (he of the Venetian baroque string bass)
will be staying in our house as he prepares for the Pacific Baroque Concert on
the 29th. This is the concert.

I have many beautiful roses but there is one that is the
most photogenic. These two blooms of the English Rose Rosa ‘English Elegance’
are perhaps waving me a goodbye for the season.
