The Dechronization of a Tulip

A nearby house was owned by unusually strange and messy old man. He sold vegetables. He had an old van that advertised he restored pianos. In his front garden (very messy) he had an old piano with plants growing from it. Just about a month ago his vegetables were gone and so was he. There has been a for-sale sign. It is a prime lot on 8th. Avenue and Trutch. Rumours have it that he had a grow-op in his basement.

Since the house will eventually be ploughed over I took the liberty of liberating some sweet peas. I also cut off three lovely tulips growing in the front garden near where the old piano was. I do not think too many people will grieve the destruction of this old house. What will take its place might affect some.

For me the idea of scanning those tulips that a human being (I did not know the old man at all) planted has a bit of melancholy. Those bulbs will not come back next year. They are the end of the line for them - a time travel with a sudden stop.
