Christmas 2017 First in a Series

This Christmas (and this is Christmas Eve at 2:10PM) I may write at least two blogs. One of them will include my after dinner Christmas portrait of the family tonight.
In this view you can see the snow that fell some days ago. The forecast for today, even though it is cloudy and cold, does not predict snow. The idea of snow on Christmas day will have to be a memory of others in the past.

Today Rosemary and I have been prepping our Christmas dinner. For dessert she is in charge of her flan but also Lauren has demanded Rosemary’s famous Yorkshire Pudding that is aided by my homemade gravy.

The main course will be a roast beef (I was planning on a ham until Lauren strongly requested that Yorkshire Pudding), with potatoes and onions. I will coat the meat with molasses and burn a crust on the barbecue and then finish in the oven. Our side dish will be another Lauren favourite, cucumber salad. We will serve steamed finger carrots.

Note the device on the credenza that we use to keep dishes hot.

Oops! I forgot to turn the hanging chair.
