A weekend visit with our daughter Alexandra in Lillooet
gave us 40 degree temperatures and lots of sun. My Rosemary and I returned
Monday at noon. We first stopped to pick up our Casi-Casi at the Kerrisdale "Cat
Hilton" on West Boulevard. He was confused but happy to see us.
This early morning I woke up to heavy rain and thunder.
Casi-Casi was not around. I found him seeking shelter in our closet. I brought
him back to bed and held on to him until he relaxed.
Rosemary went back to sleep after our breakfast in bed as
did Casi-Casi. I looked at the-almost-disaster of my opened roses and how they do
not like rain in quantity. I noticed my almost favourite Rosa ‘Charles de Mills’ blooms which had peaked while we were in
Lillooet. They now looked messy and more so with the rain. And yet…
